Wellcome to the AAGAARD Clinic

The clinic AAGAARD Gynækologi & Fertilitet is open to everybody, whether you’ve been referred by your family doctor, have private health insurance, are on a public hospital waiting list, or choose to pay for treatment yourself.

We don’t have a waiting list; our clinic has a central location; a high level of information is vital for us, and we meet patients at eye-level, speaking a language everybody understands.

In short: we take accessibility seriously. And we want to be sure that our clinic is the right choice for you.

We specialise in gynaecology and fertility treatment. That’s all we do and it’s what we’re passionate about. That’s why we can offer you the best treatment, scheduled around your need for treatment, to make certain you get the optimal result.
Because we specialise in women’s health only, you can be sure that we use only the latest and most effective methods of treatment and state-of-the art equipment.

And that’s the reason why we’ve been able to produce, and document, high quality and optimal results of our treatments, year after year.

In short: our top priority is the security of our patients, and effective treatment.

Kind regards
Jørn Aagaard
Medical specialist of obstetrics and gynaecology

Referred by your doctor?

The AAGAARD clinic has an agreement with the Danish National Health system. If you’ve been referred by your family doctor, most of the examinations and treatments will be free of charge:
  • All examinations and treatments related to disorders like cervical cell changes, bleeding disturbances and insertion of an IUD
  • Fertility investigation, including ultrasound scans, examination of fallopian tube passage and cervix, and semen analysis.

Do you have private insurance?

If you or your employer has taken out private health insurance, you’re entitled to choose where you want to be treated. If you wish to be treated at our clinic, all you have to do is contact the insurance company; they’ll inform you about their paperwork and what to do. We can help you fill in the papers, and we’ll be able to start your treatment immediately.

Are you on a public hospital waiting list?

Guaranteed treatment at a private clinic
The Danish Parliament has temporarily suspended patients’ right to be treated at a private clinic if they’ve been on the waiting list for treatment at a public hospital for more than 1 month. However, it’s expected that the guarantee will be reinstated on 1 July 2009.
For more information, please see www.venteinfo.dk, www.sygehusvalg.dk.

Are you paying yourself?

Some treatments are not covered by the public health system, and may not be covered by private health insurance either. But you can choose to pay yourself, and there’s no waiting list.
If you’re not a Danish citizen, you usually have to pay for treatment yourself.
If you don’t have private health insurance, you may have to pay for some operations if you choose to have them at our clinic, e.g. hysterectomy, prolapsed pelvic organs, removal of ovaries and sterilisation.
Investigation and insemination treatment are free if you’ve been referred by your family doctor. IVF treatment is not covered by the public health system, and not by private health insurance either.
Don’t hesitate to contact us at the clinic for further information.
